There are various types of diseases that pose a great threat to human life. A careful analysis and keen observation are very necessary to avoid a sudden loss to your life. If you keep track of the changes in your body, it is more likely that disease would care before it became too late to do anything. Human blood is an integral element and it should be as good as possible. Unfortunately, when the amount of glucose in the blood increases a lot, it leads to Hyperglycemia.

Hyperglycemia is also known for its other name high blood sugar. It starts when the amount of glucose level exceeds 200 mg/dl (11.1 mmol/l)in blood plasma. However, symptoms start to show up when the glucose level crosses 300 mg/dl. A consistent value of between 100 to 126 mg/dl is considered as Hyperglycemia, while above 126 mg/dl is considered as affected with diabetic. There are two types of Hyperglycemia: Type 1 and Type 2. In Type 1, the body requires insulin but you have not provided that much amount of insulin to your body. In Type 2, although your body has enough amount of insulin it is not working or performing effectively.
Hyperglycemia does not happen overnight; it takes time and builds slowly over days. The most common causes are these are:

·         Illness (Cold and flu usually lead to Hyperglycemia)

·         Infections

·         Taking too much food or overeating

·         Continuous stress

·         Unable to take enough insulin

As mentioned in previous lines, careful observation is necessary for early diagnostic of Hyperglycemia. There are some symptoms which can help us to early identify Hyperglycemia, which is as follows:

Polyphagia

Polyphagia refers to the situation of repetitive hunger and is derived from the Greek language which means Very Much Eat. This is usually the early symptoms of Hyperglycemia. The patient feels an extraordinary appetite again and again. But at later stages, hunger level reduces and patient as a result patient loses his/her weight a lot.

Polydipsia

The not only patient feels a lot of appetites, but he/she feels excessive thirst. In order to reduce his/her thirst, the patient drinks a lot of water. A lot of water means drinking water minutes after minutes.

Polyuria

Polyuria refers to the frequent urination and is one of the major symptoms of Hyperglycemia. However, it should not be mixed with excessive urination which occurs due to drinking a lot of water and other fluids.

Blurred Vision

Hyperglycemia badly affects your eyes. High levels of blood sugar affect the lenses of eyes and pull fluid from the eye’s tissues. As a result, you lose the sharpness of your vision. If this issue is not taken care of and no treatment is taken, then there is a strong chance of blindness.

Headache

The patient also faces the problem of continuous headache.

Dry Skin

Patient suffering from Hyperglycemia often complaints dry skin and mouth.

Poor Wound Healing

The injuries take a lot of time to recover such as cuts and scrapes. And in most cases, patient’s injuries become worst if he or she works a lot of time in the water.

The best way to diagnose is to check your blood glucose level more often. This can be done using laboratory tests or via apparatus available for home use.
